A Message From Your New State Director

A Message from Your New State Director
Melissa Cohen

Hello FPSA Advisors, Students, Alumni, and Members,

I am honored to introduce myself as the new State Director for the Florida Public Service Association. I would like to sincerely thank the Board for their confidence in me and for the opportunity to serve this incredible organization. I look forward to working collaboratively with our advisors, students, and members as we continue to grow and strengthen FPSA.

My professional background includes several years working with member-based organizations, where I’ve focused on developing engaging events, marketing, and member engagement. In my current role, I manage member activities and events across the East Coast, and this summer I had the exciting opportunity to coordinate an event featuring former MLB World Series MVP Ben Zobrist.

As I begin this new journey with FPSA, I look forward to continuing the outstanding conferences, competitions, and annual events that make FPSA such a special organization. At the same time, I’m excited to introduce new ideas and initiatives that will enhance the member experience while building on the strong foundation that already exists.

One of my goals this year is to launch an FPSA Alumni Program to reconnect with former members and celebrate the lasting impact of our association. If you are in contact with any former FPSA students, I would love to connect with them. Together, we can build a strong alumni network that supports the next generation of FPSA members.

I also invite everyone to connect with FPSA on social media. Please like, follow, and share our pages to help spread FPSA’s mission throughout your schools and communities. One of my priorities is highlighting the incredible people who make this organization successful. Throughout the year, I would love to feature our students, advisors, members, alumni, and volunteers in our newsletter, website, and social media. If you or someone you know would like to be featured, please send me a photo along with a short biography. I look forward to sharing your stories and celebrating the amazing individuals who make FPSA thrive.

I am excited to meet many of you throughout the year, learn from your experiences, and work together to continue growing our association. Please feel free to reach out to me:

Thank you for the warm welcome—I can’t wait to see what we accomplish together!

Melissa Cohen, FPSA State Director
