The Board of Directors will offer scholarships at the Annual State Leadership Conference. These scholarships are to assist the student member in obtaining a college degree or a certification that leads to licensing with the State of Florida. Certified police officer, correctional officer, 911 public safety telecommunicator, emergency medical technician, and firefighter are an example of a few certifications that might qualify. The Board of Directors will consider other certifications when requested to do so by the recipient of the scholarship.
The applicant must be a current member of the Florida Public Service Association. The applicant must be enrolled in a secondary public service education program or a program completer as recognized by Florida Department of Education.
The applicant must submit the scholarship application to the State Director by January 31st. The application must be postmarked by January 31st to be considered for the award of the scholarship. Applications will not be accepted after January 31st. The applicant must use the current Scholarship Application Form that is available online at www.myfpsa.us. Scholarship applications will be accepted beginning August 1st of the applicant’s senior (12th) year in school.
A list of scholarships is available to current members of the Florida Public Service Association and is posted on the association’s website. This list is subject to change by the Board of Directors.
