Sponsorships

Thank you for your interest in becoming a sponsor of the Florida Public Service Association (FPSA). The FPSA is a not-for-profit organization, started in 1990 as the recognized Career Technical Student Organization (CTSO) for Law and Public Safety programs by the Florida Department of Education. As a CTSO, the FPSA serves more than 30,000 students and 60 teachers across the state of Florida. FPSA provides coherent and rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards, relevant technical knowledge, and both technical and soft skills needed to prepare students for public service career paths.

The FPSA provides students with leadership opportunities, networking, and a place to explore the career field of law enforcement, firefighting, and teaching assistant, before they commit to a career path. Students compete against one another in regional competitions and at a State Leadership Conference (SLC), to showcase the career development skills learned. Six (6) scholarships are awarded yearly at the SLC to help offset college or technical school.  All competitions are designed to be in alignment with the Florida Department of Education (FDOE) curriculum framework as approved by the State Board of Education.

In the fall, the FPSA conducts a student board leadership development event for all of the students that make up individual chapter leadership from the individual high school chapters across the state.  The event focuses on imparting  the duties and  responsibilities needed by the students to effectively run and manage their chapter meetings. Simultaneously, the advisors in attendance attend sessions to help better understand the regional and state competitions, in addition to sessions designed to increase the level of instruction and education within the public service classroom.

FPSA chapters are divided into four regional sectors within the state. Regional competitions are a single day event consisting of an average of 15 competitions usually held between November and February. State Leadership Conference brings together all of the public service chapters in the state, to compete in multiple criminal justice, fire, and open competitions over 3 full days.
